We're exploring the internet!
Heya, you may remember our recent infrastructure survey, and asked "what is Fyra cooking?" We're exploring offering hosting options, which raises the next question:
Why?
While our primary focus has been on the Linux desktop, we've never really had a good answer for the Linux server use case. While we've been dissatisfied with the current hosting space for a while, especially as an organization that runs a lot of our own infrastructure, we've haven't had the opportunity to offer our own take until now.
We plan to be an infrastructure provider you can depend on, built on our values of openness, community, and user friendliness. Our goal is to provide an affordable option that doesn't compromise on ease-of-use, Linux integration, or community focus. In other words, we want you to run your infrastructure without breaking the bank, or your mind.
We'll be bringing on a fresh face to the Fyra team, Katherine Cole, as our VP of Infrastructure to lead our experiments. She previously founded and scaled nulled, in addition to years of experience with hyperscalers maintaining and building their infrastructure.
When/Where?
Right now, we're still in exploring and experimenting, and when we launch, our offering will be quite barebones and limited to a set number of users. As such, we'll be offering a discount during the beta period. We've opened up reservations, where you can reserve colocation or a VPS for no charge: https://forms.gle/UxvMoZZxJNfvRrBW7
