Summer Time (6/9–6/15)

Things are starting to get into the summer swing around here! Let's see what happened this week:

Into the Stratumsphere

Cappy announced the developer preview of Stratrum, a new tool that is effectively OSTree for specific directories.

The primary usecase we've found so far is managing game mods, allowing you to keep them separate from the base game, and to easily swap out custom modpacks.

TWO CAPPIES?!?!

Cappy was prolific this week, also announcing a preview of Outflow, a new tool for forwarding IPC calls from inside Wine to the host and vice versa.

Cherries

This bit is about Cherry (Chromebook) and cherries are ripe in summer idk man I'm sick.

9lore fixed a regression in coreboot for Mediatek SOCs.

There was some other Chromebooking with Elly and 9lore this week, but it's not quite out in the open yet. Stay tuned.

Terrafication Will Continue until Morale Improves

Roachy made "Zig macros that didn't suck", and fixed some Cargo macros. Mado also worked on these improvements.

Mado packaged a large number of Hyprland packages in Terra Extras.[1]

Roachy also fixed RPCS3, Anda, improved CUDA support, fixed Legcord, and added scx-sheds.

Owen got cbmem working in Terra, rounding out our set of Chromebook utilities.

Jaiden worked on Terra documentation for Enterprise Linux and Atomic systems. Things are finally shaping up for Terra EL.

If you weren't already aware, Terra for Fedora 40 is now EOL. Please make sure you upgrade your system if you haven't already.

Helium Oh No I Forgot!

This section wasn't here at press time, but it is now

Lains worked on some much needed typography improvements in Helium, look at how awesome that looks.

That should be it! Sorry to anyone I missed (I'm actually quite sick while writing this.) Just like every week, so long and thanks for all the fish.
